How the match works

The math

A trailer does not carry the dry weight on the spec sheet. It carries the ski ready to ride:

Loaded weight = dry weight + (fuel capacity × 6 lb per gal) + 50 lb of gear

That loaded weight is compared against the net capacity of each Henko trailer: 750 lb for the AT13-8, 1,000 lb for the AT13-10 and 1,200 lb for the AT14-12V. The smallest trailer that carries the load with room to spare is the recommendation. Alongside it we list every step up to the AT14-12V: a ski matched to the AT13-8 also fits the AT13-10 and the AT14-12V, and a ski matched to the AT13-10 also fits the AT14-12V, so you can choose the size that suits you. The steps only go up, never down: skis matched to the AT14-12V are never offered a smaller trailer.

One exception: for the heaviest fishing skis, the FishPro Sport and Trophy, we recommend the AT18-15 together with the AT14-12V. Every other heavy ski stays on the AT14-12V.

And we never run a trailer at its limit. Any ski that loads close to the AT13-10's 1,000 lb ceiling goes on the AT14-12V instead: the Wake 170, GTR 230, GTX 170 and RXP-X 325 at about 930 to 939 lb, the VX Cruiser HO and FishPro Scout 130 at about 944 to 946 lb, and every ski loading over 950 lb, among them the VX Limited HO, GTX 230, GTX 300, Wake Pro 230, FX HO, FX Cruiser HO and Ultra 160LX-S.

Weights are base model figures. Factory options like sound systems and tech packages add roughly 10 to 20 lb, noted per model where the manufacturer publishes them. No single ski on this list, fully loaded, goes over the AT14-12V.
